Remember Fiona & Calvin? Last year we spent a few hours on a sailboat creating some unique engagement photography. They got some incredible engagement photos with spectacular views of the NYC skyline and I got seasick. Well, I’ve recovered and we’re back with more goodness from Fiona & Calvin and I’m happy to report no one got sick this go around 🙂 We did however party hard and get some pretty sick images in the process. I’m extremely elated to share their wedding photos with the masses.
It was cloudy, then misty, then it started to drizzle. No more outdoor wedding. If I were to say I was disappointed that would’ve been an understatement. To add insult to injury, Anye and I got a flat ten minutes into our commute. Luckily, we left 2 hours early, with some help from a friend we arrived at the hotel on time. Thank GOD! Needless to say, things weren’t going according to planned for anyone.
Calvin was so nervous as Anyeka was shooting the prep. But that all seemed to change when he saw Fiona during the first look. She cried, which made all the spectators around tear up just a little. It was a touching moment. From that point on nothing else seemed to matter, even if it wasn’t what they wanted. They had fun, they laughed, Fiona cried some more, the sun came out, and they danced the night away. It was an amazing night.
If I’m not mistaken we began speaking with Fiona & Calvin about their wedding way back in 2012. That’s a long time ago! We don’t even shoot the same way and we’ve moved twice since then. Since those initial correspondence, We’ve really gotten to know Fiona. She’s cool peeps. It’s a blessing for us when our clients can let their guards down and be themselves around us all the time. It is also great when we can call them friends and genuinely mean it. I’m happy that our paths crossed and that Anye and I got a chance to create something special for their wedding day.
