Most weddings one would attend it’s easy to see two families. It’s totally normal and most of the narrative is about both sides coming together as one. However, Lana and Arthur’s wedding was a bit different. As soon as we got off the plane it seemed like everyone was family. By the end of the rehearsal dinner I was also part of the family being so warmly welcomed by the couple’s close friends and family.
Lana reached out to me just two months before their wedding. At the time Anyeka and I were expecting Victoria very, very soon and I didn’t want to travel too quickly so naturally I was a bit on the fence. After meeting Lana and Arthur I knew that photographing their wedding weekend at the Dreams Resort in Las Mareas, Costa Rica was meant to be.
After arriving in Costa Rica, Lana & Arthur’s enthusiasm of their wedding was running high, after all getting married in Costa Rica is a pretty big deal. However, beyond the rush and enthusiasm, their genuine love connection was clear. I saw many love gazes, frequent pats on the butt and hugs and that was just by Lana alone 🙂
I’ve learned over the years that no matter how much I let my imagination run wild, I really have no idea how things will really turn out at a wedding celebration. I can’t put to words how great it was to see this couple devote their lives to each other. Everyone had so much fun. I even got a few shots of their mothers putting it down on the dance floor.
Lana & Arthur, thank you so much for trusting me with your wedding day. I had so much fun and you guys ROCK!
