Usually when we book a destination wedding we try to learn as much as we can about the resort or location where the couple plans to hold their events. This time we didn’t have that luxury. Shana and Kalesi planned their destination wedding on the countryside in rural Trinidad where they grew up. To Shana and Kalesi this was home which we feel like it’s the perfect location for anyone to join their lives.
Anyeka and I had the greatest time in Trinidad. We’ve done a number of destination weddings in the past and trust me when I say everyone makes us feel welcomed. However, Shana and Kalesi’s family made us feel as if we were an extended part of their family.
We landed in Trinidad two days before the wedding and got a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather and authentic home cook Trinidadian food. We spent the night before the wedding hanging out with Shana, Kalesi and their family and friends and judging from the time we had we knew that we were going to have the most amazing time on the wedding day.
We were overwhelmed by the turnout of guest at their celebration. With over 200 guests for their destination wedding that speaks to how much Shana and Kalesi are loved. Family and friends traveled from as far as Canada and New York just to celebrate with them. Not only that, but we love that Kalesi isn’t ashamed to show how much he loves to love. Throughout the ceremony we got to finally see and feel how much Kalesi and Shana really love and adore each other. It was beautiful to experience them exchange their vows.
Shana and Kalesi, we are so glad that you trusted your sisters referral after randomly meeting me in the bank. We are grateful for your trust, friendship and genuineness. Friends for life for sure and play dates with Sofia and Victoria 🙂
