Anyeka and I had an amazing time documenting their wedding photos at the newly revived Watergate Hotel. The first time I met Shemeka & Jeremy, I bumped into them at the Harvard Business School Africa Business Conference in February 2016. I was there to document a weekends worth of events and Jeremy, and I crossed paths. I recognized him because when working at JPMorgan I was a mentor for his identical twin brother Jerod. We quickly connected, and they expressed their desire to have Anyeka, and I capture their 2017 wedding.
Rewind now to the Summer of 2009 during the Atlanta Greek picnic, Shemeka and Jeremy met at the Kappa House. Their first encounter was quite peculiar, although very tactical on Jeremy’s part. Jeremy recalls at some point that night he stepped outside to get some fresh air and there Shemeka was. She was leaning against a car talking with friends. He made my way over, waited for an opening and asked her if she knew how to get to Compound. She didn’t know it, but his goal was to get her to come to the club with him. However, they never made it the club. Shemeka and Jeremy spent the next hour or so talking about NSBE, engineering, Virginia Tech, and DC. For such a nerdy conversation, she had him mesmerized. What he loved most was that she was smart and sexy.
Since that day, Shemeka & Jeremy have been inseparable. Even through years of maintaining a long distance, through ups and downs, even through Harvard Business School, their bond is one that has lasted the test of time.
