I was excited and nervous before shooting, pumped during and grateful afterwards it was all done. Words cannot express the wonderful time I had with Florence, Dwayne and their family & friends. I first met Florence & Dwayne back in January 2012 when I photographed their bun session. After their little chocolate drop was born, I received a call from Florence letting me know to get ready for some fun in the sun in the Dominican Republic.
The atmosphere the entire weekend was truly amazing. Not every one who attended their wedding was family but as an outsider you couldn’t tell. I even had to remind myself that I wasn’t part of the family. The wedding day was filled with loads of emotions. Nerves turned to tears and even onlookers could feel the love.
The day after the wedding Florence, Dwayne and myself took a trip outside of the resort into the town for a few “quick” portraits. I always love the flare and color from the Caribbean and being that we’re all from the Caribbean, it felt like home.
To Florence & Dwayne: Thank you for trusting my vision above all. I’m happy to have been able to document your wedding weekend. Never let the fire you have for each other die out. You both are incredibly great together. Take care of my friend, the little chocolate drop.
